BON VOYAGE: Good Journey

On April 27th, 1963, the Junior Class presented to the Senior Class "Bon Voyage," the Junior Senior Banquet and Prom.

The meal was served at 7:00 p.m. by the Eastern Star, and Mr. Coltrain gave grace. . After the meal Jack Floyd, Junior Class President, gave a short welcome speech. Then the Senior Class President, James Head, gave a response of gratitude to the Junior Class.

The entertainment was special music by Pam Beach, who sang "Sentimental Journey," by Joe Brooks who sang "Around the World in Eighty Days," and by the Junior Girl's Ensemble who sang "May You Always."

The speaker was George Weems, President of the School Board. He spoke on life after graduation from high school, the things you must do to make a good respectable life. The students were then dismissed to proceed to the dance.

To get to the dance floor, the students had to cross a gangplank. The tables were to the left and right, and the dance floor was located in the middle. The band, the Roadrunners, was located to the rear, on the stage.

The walls of the ballroom were made of red, blue, and silver crepe paper. The ceiling was made of the same colors of crepe paper. It rose to a peak in the center, which was decorated by red balloons. There was a sack of balloons which was split open allowing the balloons to fall to the floor.

On the tables there were red yellow, green and blue rolled streamers which the students tossed all over the floor and tables There were miniature champagne bottles passed out which were loaded with thin streamers and a small charge to eject these streamers. The charges could be set off by pulling a string attached to the neck of the bottle.

Everyone enjoyed the banquet and the Prom immensely. The occasion ended at 11:30. The whole evening was a complete success. We, the seniors, once again t express our gratitude to the juniors for a wonderful evening

SENIOR CLASS TRIP

Ring! goes the alarm clock at 4:30 on the morning of May 27. You want to be sure you have enough time to get ready, because it would be the absolute end if you got left behind. But wait. .where are you going at this early hour? The answer is Bentonville, Arkansas, where the famous resort, area, Bella Vista, is located.

Maybe you will spend the day on the lake boating, fishing, skiing, canoeing, or just getting plain baked in the sun. For those who are less enthused about water sports, there will be tennis, roller-skating, horse‑back riding. Also available are a golf driving range, an 18‑hole miniature golf course, and hikes which include seeing Lovers' Leap, Wonderland Cave, Devil' Hole, Fat Man's Squeeze, and many more sights.

The climax of this thrilling day will be a dance in the moonlight. Then the weary but excited seniors will climb back in the bus to return to Neody. It will be a long day: from 4:30 Monday morning to 2:00 or 3:00 on Tuesday morning, but everyone is excitedly looking forward to it. We are sure it will be one of the highlights of our high school days.
