Neodesha Kansas Basement Bowling Alley
In the 1950's I would walk from South School to the basement bowling alley in Neodesha. It was poorly lit and had service pipes and a big heater hung from the ceiling. My mother bowled for the Bright Spot Cafe in 1952. Below are 3 pictures. One of the team, one of the awards banquet, and the third of the bowling alley itself. You can imagine how greatly the bowlers appreciated the new bowling alley put in across the street on 4th. This old alley was below what became Marie's Tavern on the Northwest corner of the intersection of 4th and Wisconsin. Click on each picture to enlarge it:
