Tonya (Peck) Cox (daughter of Loren & Romona Peck, sister of Troy, Randy and Terry Peck), NHS 83, has sent some newspaper clippings that her mother saved.
Tonya, a former Neodesha HS cheerleader, Independence Community College cheerleader and University of Kansas Baby Jayhawk mascot, has coached the Bluestreak cheerleaders since 1995. Her squads have won four consecutive Cheer Grand Championships at UCA camp since 1996, were Home Pom Grand Champions in 1997 and took second place in 1999. Tonya is a two-time member of AC’s Who’s Who of Cheer Coaches and was nominated for NCCC’s 1999 National HS Cheer Coach of the Year award.
