Lloyd Cecil Fernandez was born in Neodesha in 1947 and attended Central Elementary School until 3rd Grade when his family moved to Florida. He would have graduated with the NHS Class of 1965. He currently resides in San Antonio, Texas, where they make decorative tiles.
I suppose many of us remember the day Smiley Burnette, Frog, of the western movies visited the Klock Theater in Neodesha. Most of the pictures taken with him are long gone, but Lloyd still has his:
Lloyd said he remembers eating ice cream at Bates Drugstore and talking with Mrs. Bates. He told her that when he grew up he would march in a parade in front of her store. His mother worked at the Green Lantern at 4th and Main when she met his father from Cherryvale. He remembers going to the stock car races my father and others held south of Neodesha.
