Kathleen Hartman and her daughter collected
this brick recently:
I thought you might be interested, and can
perhaps explain, an anomaly that I found. This past weekend I picked up two
bricks from the front porch of my husband's childhood home, on a farm 13-miles
south of Maryville, MO. The farm house is totally in ruins, so my daughter
and I claimed mementos from the part we could easily, and safely, approach. I
thought I might be able to date the house from the bricks, and so I went to
the internet.
Surprise! The bricks are stamped "V.V.V. BRICK
& T. CO NOEDESHA, KAS." Now, wouldn't you think the
folks who etched the bricks would know the correct spelling of their home
town? Have you an explanation?

I do thank you for your time and consideration
on this question. Of course, this is not an earth-shaking problem; just a
mind-twister for us to consider!
