John “Lan” Matthews

John “Lan” Lannes Matthews of Shawnee died Friday, July 22, 2005 at his home.  He was 63.

Memorial services were held Monday, July 25, at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home in Olathe.

The son of John L. and Marybeth (Higby) Matthews, he was born July 30, 1941 in Kansas City, MO.  He graduated from Northwestern University, IL and University of Kansas.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his wives, Sally and Kay Matthews.

Survivors include two daughters, Trisha Craig and Johnna Reeder; two sisters, Nancy Weaver of Denver, CO  and Jill Stratemeier of Neodesha; a special friend, Mary Jacobson; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Southwoods Christian Church in care of McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula, Olathe, KS
