George Dale Carr George Dale Carr of Bazine died Saturday, July 8, 2006 after a short battle with cancer. He was 61. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 11, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home of Ness City with Rev. Eric Buller of the First Mennonite Church of Ransom officiating. Burial was in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Wakeeney under direction of Fitzgerald Funeral Home of Ness City. The son of Samuel Irvine and Almyra Elizabeth (Miller) Carr, he was born August 26, 1944 in Neodesha. He was united in marriage to Wilma Ummel on October 13, 1969 at Miami, OK. She survives, of the home. Mr. Carr worked at various jobs, the most recent being a newpaper carrier. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the VFW Post 3147 in Lacrosse. Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Frank Carr, and a brother, Richard Carr. Survivors include a son, Jarrod Carr of Ellinwood; a daughter, Maria Carr of Great Bend; and two grandsons. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Prairie in Dodge City in care of the funeral home. Kerry: Known as Dale, he attended Neodesha High School with the Class of 1961.
