Lola Ferne Taylor, 58, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Via Christi, St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas.
Lola was born May 21, 1948 in Neodesha, Kansas to Claud and Viola (Cather) Taylor. Lola attended schools in Neodesha, graduating from Neodesha High School in 1966. She later attended Labette County Community College in Parsons and graduated from Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas in 1994. She lived in Chanute from 1989 to 1997, moving back to Neodesha in 1997. She worked as a CNA at Tioga in Chanute and Gran Villas in Neodesha until 1999 and retired due to a disability.
Lola is survived by one daughter, Augusta VanVeen of Neodesha, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Aushtin Steele, Elizabeth and Blake Rodriquez all of Neodesha, Kansas. She is also survived by two brothers, Clarence Taylor of Fredonia, Kansas and C. Albert Taylor of Independence, Kansas; and three sisters, Althea Boring and Rosalie "Susie" Walker both of Neodesha, Kansas and Jan Dannels of Altoona, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Larry; one sister, Ileta; one son, Austin "Spider"; and one daughter Misty.
Visitation hour for Lola will be on Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel.
Funeral services for Lola Taylor will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Logan officiating. Burial will follow at the Altoona Cemetery, Altoona, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to either the Kidney Foundation or Wilson County Hospital Foundation. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
