OPAL M. (LOWRY) VORDERBRUEGGE

Opal M. (Johnson) Vorderbruegge, 93, of Neodesha, died Friday evening, April 6, 2007, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Interment will be at the Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. til 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Opal Mae (Lowry) Vorderbruegge was born November 12, 1913 at Berryville, Arkansas, the daughter of James E. Johnson and Lela May (Walker) Johnson. She attended Neodesha schools. She was a seamstress for various clothing factories in the area. 

On September 26, 1931 at Neodesha, Kansas she was united in marriage to Robert O. Lowry and bore 9 children with him.  Mr. Lowry preceded his wife in death on April 23, 1965.

She was united in marriage to Edward Vorderbruegge. He also preceded his wife in death.

She was preceeded in death by son Jimmy Joe Lowry, daughter Judy Ann, and son Robert O. Lowry.

She is survived by: two sons, Charles Lowry of Joplin, Missouri and Jerry Lowry of Neodesha, Kansas; four daughters; Pat Lowry of Neodesa; Loretta Clifton of Emporia, Kansas; Linda Sue Demoret of Neodesha, Kansas, Veora K. Lowry of Pasadena, Texas; 33 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
