Do you recognize anyone in this picture?
Ross Miracle, English instructor at Neodesha High School in the 1960's, posed as the ice skater in this picture. It was taken on the ice rink at Sun Valley, Idaho, during the winter of 1956, almost 50 years ago, the year after he graduated from high school to earn some money and to decide what he wanted to do with his life at the time. The "camera man", Grace (the ski club secretary, his mentor and a former skater), and he were posing for Kodak's major ad campaign for it's new multi-lensed camera. Ross reports that a photograph like this one hung indoors near the ceiling of Grand Central Station in New York City. Plus he received an unheard of $10 an hour. He also states that back then he had to eat three meals a day and an afternoon snack to keep from losing weight. Ah, for the good old days, huh?
